Art Smith, Brooklyn Museum

All Hallows' Eve

I think New York City is the only place in the world when you can't tell if people are in costume for Halloween weekend. I dressed as Lumber Jack Emma for one day and Penny Lane from Almost Famous - brunette version - the second day. What did you all dress as?

Little Beauty.

I saw this picture and my heart literally dropped.
When I am older I want to be like this with my daughter, dressing up and looking pretty all day.
Everything about this shot is lovely, from the way their dresses are both sheer exposing their silhouette, to the modernize 70's theme.

Birthday Party.

My birthday party took place at Lodge, in Williamsburg.
I highly recommend if you want a laid back atmosphere, & want to feel like you're in a wood cabin in Aspen.
I ended up having a really great time, besides the fact that my feet were ripped to shreds.
After we went back to J and R's apartment, with my hometown friends + my nyc friends who all came to celebrate my silly little day.
It was exactly what I wanted in the end, had most my best there, drank cider ale (my favorite), met new people, and looked pretty.

Driggs.

Last friday a few of the prettys and I ventured to BK to start my birthday weekend.
First of all, I hate my birthday.
Don't ask why, I just do.
So we decided to kick it off right,
& what else would fashion students do except shop at the best vintage stores?
Ended up getting a red suede jacket and boyfriend tweed pants for 20 bucks. Scoreee.

October Inspiration.

(Stills from Sean Haye's "When We Fall In" video,

My inspiration this month whether
it be fashion or music, is a "dressed up bluegrass" influence.

blue·grass (blgrs)
n. A type of folk music that originated in the southern United States, typically played on banjos and guitars and characterized by rapid tempos and jazzlike improvisation.

The neutral hues with a hint of a muted deep color like ruby, mustard, or dark turquoise is on my brain all the time, creating outfits in my head.
My constant muses include MK and Erin who have the most beautiful long wavy hair, which always makes them just plain cool looking.
& the art + vintage photograph add to my inspiration-
the feel for both of them is relaxed and put together -
which is precisely my style this month.
